The Lakehead University – Orillia Campus

The Lakehead University – Orillia Campus formed part of the comprehensive adaptive reuse of the historic Tudhope Building in downtown Orillia. One Horizon transformed the former industrial landmark into a multi-use facility that integrates academic, civic, and residential functions within a preserved heritage structure.

As part of this redevelopment, the building was reimagined to accommodate Lakehead University’s Orillia campus, including modern classrooms, a library and resource centre, and student support spaces.

Orillia City Hall, Council Chambers

The project also included the conversion of a portion of the building into the new Orillia City Hall, the construction of Council Chambers, and the development of 52 residential apartments.

Through careful restoration and modernization, original architectural elements were preserved while integrating contemporary building systems and infrastructure. The result is a revitalized civic anchor that supports higher education, municipal governance, and residential living in the heart of downtown Orillia.
